Course Description

By the end of this 20-hour postnatal yoga teacher training (16 contact hours and 4 hours of independent study) you will :
  • feel confident offering modifications to new moms in your "all levels" yoga class
  • understand how movement, breath work, and meditation can be used to help new moms heal (mentally, emotionally, and physically) after birth 
  • know how to use yoga to help new moms reconnect with their changing body and identity 
  • feel confident teaching moms how to practice yoga safely while holding their baby
  • have the tools and skills to lead your very own 6-week postnatal yoga series
  • be more comfortable holding space for new (and seasoned) moms even if you don't have children

  • A 2-hour workshop with Kirstie Gordon-Loiello, pelvic floor physiotherapist. Kirstie will cover pelvic floor anatomy; exercises for pelvic girdle pain; diastesis recti; pushing positions; postpartum recovery and prolapse

About Kirstie

​Kirstie graduated from McGill University in 2009, with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. Her first passion was in orthopaedic/sports therapy. After her son was born, she developed a keen interest in pelvic health, training in women’s health, with a special focus on post-natal therapies. Her dedication to these issues has motivated and directed her professional development in taking care of Mom as a whole.

Kirstie is a licensed member of the Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec (OPPQ).

This yoga teacher training is open to anyone with a desire to learn more about how yoga, in all its forms (asana, pranayama, meditation, mantras) can be used to welcome more comfort, calm, connection and joy into the body, mind, and heart after birth. 

There are no prerequisites for this training; just an open mind and heart, and a passion for learning new things.
