Join our circle for movement, education, and real life conversation with other pregnant people from the comfort of your own home.

All sessions are recorded and you have access to all classes until  2 weeks after the last class. Many students enjoy repeating the practice, or practicing on their own time if they can't make the live class.

There are MANY prenatal movement programs out there today, it can feel so hard to choose the right one for you and your baby.

Prenatal Yoga Testimonials

Prenatal Yoga

Every pregnant person can benefit from practicing prenatal yoga.

Yoga is one of the activities obstetricians and midwives suggest starting during pregnancy! Why? Because yoga can help you cope with the physical and emotional changes you will experience throughout pregnancy, and it can also prepare both your body AND mind for birth. An added bonus of group classes is that it can be really comforting to connect with other women that are on a similar path.

In her book “The Birth Partner”, Penny Simkin says “Coping well with the pain and indeterminate length of labor involves the use of the Three Rs: relaxation, rhythms and ritual”.  A consistent yoga practice throughout pregnancy gives you an opportunity to practice all three. By learning to strengthen the connection between your mind, body and breath you will feel more prepared and confident in your ability to cope with the challenges that birth will present.

The advantage of choosing to practice prenatal yoga with me, specifically, is that I am also a birth doula. I bring an additional element of prenatal education to all my classes in the discussions we have prior to our physical practice. I am also always available to answer personal questions before and after class. If you are considering hiring a doula for your birth, my yoga classes are a great venue for us to get to know each other and build a special bond that will carry through to your birth.

FAQ

When can I practice prenatal yoga?

Prenatal yoga can be practiced at any stage of your pregnancy. Most moms in my class will join at the beginning of their second trimester and continue to practice right up until before giving birth.

Do I need props to practice prenatal yoga?

We do use a variety of yoga props in my class, but the good news in many of them can be found around your house. The only thing I recommend you buy is a pair of yoga blocks (foam will do but cork are best). Other than that we use blankets, cushions, chairs, and wall space.
