I took prenatal and postnatal yoga classes with Lauren and at every class, I had an amazing time! They are the perfect balance between challenging and gentle, while being particularly educational. Lauren's positive energy, her advice and her ability to listen felt like a gift, one that I took with me through labor and even beyond my birth experience. I can’t wait to practice with her again, with baby!

Postnatal Yoga

Postnatal yoga can be started at any point postpartum but I highly recommend waiting until your baby is at least 6 weeks old. Postnatal yoga brings many benefits on multiple levels. One of the biggest motivating factors for women to attend a yoga class with their baby is to get out of the house (where there are often feelings of isolation) and connect with other moms in a safe and supportive environment. My postnatal classes always begin with a short discussion on a topic relating to our Motherhood journey. On a physical level, postnatal yoga teaches you how to safely rebuild your core strength. Pregnancy and birth can be very hard on the body and many women find themselves with aches and pains in new places from the day to day strain of holding, feeding, and playing with their baby. Postnatal yoga offers an opportunity to strengthen, stretch and relax; activities which you probably don’t get a chance to do very often as a new mother. An added bonus to postnatal yoga is that your baby also benefits from this practice. As cranky as they may be at home, babies often thrive in a new environment with other little people to look at. Postnatal yoga is focused mainly on moms, but we also do some fun, bonding activities that bring so much joy to both mom and baby!
